Confederation of Somali Community in Minnesota (CSCM)
About Us
Since 1994, the Confederation of Somali Community in Minnesota (CSCM) has stood as a trusted pillar for Somali and East African families in the Twin Cities. Founded by community members who saw a need for culturally grounded support, CSCM was built on one simple idea: no one should have to navigate life alone in a new country.
We walk alongside individuals and families as they build new beginnings—offering support that honors their heritage while opening doors to new opportunities. Whether it’s helping a student graduate, guiding a family to safe housing, or making sure parents can connect with healthcare and jobs, our work is about more than services—it’s about connection, dignity, and belonging.
Our Mission
To strengthen and uplift Somali and East African communities in Minnesota through culturally responsive services, grassroots advocacy, and opportunities that help people move forward with confidence and pride.
Our Vision
CSCM visions a thriving, united community where every individual has the resources, respect, and support they need to succeed, while staying rooted in their culture and identity.

Youth Employment & Work Readiness
We help Somali and East African youth prepare for real-world careers through resume workshops, interview coaching, internships and job placements. Our programs focus on confidence, communication, and building a future they can be proud of.
Community Outreach & Immigration Support
From reading important mail to assisting with translations, we help individuals and families stay informed and connected. We also guide community members through immigration paperwork and offer personalized support through every step.
